Burnout and Career Change Therapy in Ontario

Burnout therapy at Mindful Comeback Therapy is for high achievers who are running on empty, stuck in survival mode, or questioning the career they worked so hard to build. Rubina Gogna, Registered Psychotherapist, helps you understand why rest has stopped working and what your nervous system needs to recover. Sessions are virtual anywhere in Ontario, or in person at our Ajax office.

Signs of burnout

  • Exhausted even after a weekend or vacation
  • Dreading work, or feeling numb about things you used to care about
  • Irritable, short tempered or easily overwhelmed
  • Trouble focusing, forgetting things, making small mistakes
  • Using productivity, food, scrolling or alcohol to cope
  • Feeling like you have to keep performing to be worth something
  • Knowing you need a change but feeling stuck about what or how

Why rest alone does not fix it

Burnout is not just being tired. When you have been in survival mode for a long time, your body stays on alert even when you stop. That is why a week off often does not touch it. Science first, feeling second: we look at what is keeping your system switched on, including perfectionism, people pleasing and old beliefs about your worth.

How we work

We combine somatic work and EMDR for the stress your body is still holding with practical skills from ACT, DBT and CBT for boundaries, energy and decision making. For career change, we sort out what you actually want from what you were taught to want, and plan your next step from a steadier place.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a burnout diagnosis to start therapy?

Sessions are available Monday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Is burnout therapy virtual or in person?

Both. Virtual sessions are available anywhere in Ontario, and in person sessions are at our Ajax office.

How much does it cost?

Individual intake sessions are $290 and ongoing sessions are $200. Sliding scale spots are offered when available.

Is it covered by insurance?

Sessions are eligible for reimbursement through most extended health plans that cover a Registered Psychotherapist. Receipts are provided after every session.
